Yet another version of this sci-fi/horror "classic." After being decapitated in a car crash, "Jan in the Pan" needs a new body, and deranged surgeon/fiancee Herb Evers begins stalking strippers with the hope of performing a full-body transplant and eventually getting the best of both worlds. Naturally, things do not go quite as planned. I believe this is a clearer/sharper transfer of "Brain" than many (most?) of the others available in the Archive. Run time is 82...

So what that it has nothing to do with Broadway. So what that the acting is awful and the production values nonexistent (except for Foley FX which consist of a cricket and a car horn). So what that it seems twice as long as it actually is. Because now you have a foolproof way to get rid of unwanted house guests. Just flip on this movie, and watch 'em scatter. A strong contender for the worst movie of all time. Written and directed by Phil Tucker. Released in 1955. a.k.a. "Hollywood...

Betmen Yarasa Adam is a crazy and low-budget Turkish superhero movie from 1973. It certainly portrays the Caped Crusader in a different light than westerners are used to seeing. He's a smirky, big-haired guy who smokes, uses a gun, frequents strip clubs (with Robin in tow), roughs up women, and habitually screws around behind his girlfriend's back. There is a cat-petting villain who resembles Blofeld. The film has a little mild nudity, so be forewarned. The film is in pretty so-so condition. In...

An old geezer recalls some of the antics of the men and women of his western town, more wild and woolly than Tombstone or Dodge City. In this town, no one is a good shot, the women are hungry for new meat, and practical jokers abound. A stranger strolls into town, proving resistant to the mayhem and, after donning some cowboy duds, begins cleaning up that town. This one actually has some decent production values. A film about the dastardly doings of Norbert Jacques's title villian, directed by Fritz Lang. Rudolf Klein-Rogge stars in a role he later repeated in "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" (aka "The Crimes of Dr. Mabuse) in 1933. This is actually the first part of a film that was released in two parts, something Lang has done a few times (The Indian Tomb, Siegfried). Unfortunately, I do not have part 2. One of the early color near-nudie films and was re-shown often by, mostly, drive-in theatre owners in need of a quick cash fix. They would hang out the "Adults Only" sign, thereby ensuring that every high school and junior high boy (and more than a few dads) within an hour's drive would storm the gate, and turn on the popcorn machine and then hot-foot it to the night-deposit at the bank. Hank Henry is more than a little frustrated at the "lack of attention" he is getting at...

Blue skies, lush vegetation, identical gravity, gold ingots… But they also discover a civilization of telepathic “moonatics” who look exactly like us – except for two key differences. All of them have pipe-cleaner antennae attached to plastic hairbands…and   everyone is topless all the time! Naturally, our intrepid duo must investigate – purely in the interest...

It's supposed to be cutting edge science: a diving bell that can descend the depths of the ocean. However, when a cable snaps, the crew fears that they may perish inside. After the crew leaves the bell to explore, they soon find a large network of caves and a survivor who has been there for over a decade. The survivor reveals the horrible truth: there is no way to get out of the caves. Or is there a way? You can find more information regarding this film on its IMDb page .

Third in a series of Italian science fiction films clearly inspired by Star Wars. This entry features a couple of comical robots. Three other films in the series are #1 War of the Planets (aka Cosmos 1977), #2 War of the Robots (1978) and #4 Beast in Space (1980). The series is most famous for its gold skinned blond androids and the use of reflective "light sabers".

From IMDb : Teenagers Reg, Skip, Julie and Pam go out for an afternoon of water skiing on a nice day. They come ashore on an island that is being used as a testing center for a scientist and agents from "an eastern power." They seek to turn the people of the United States into easily controlled zombie like creatures. The agents steal Reg's boat, stranding the teens on the island. The four friends are then held captive in cages able only to speculate on their fate. Though they have...

"Voyage to the Planet of the Prehistoric Women" (1968) is the second of two reworkings of "Planeta Bur," a Soviet sci-fi film from 1959. The first was the similarly titled, "Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet" (1962) assembled by director Curtis Harrington for producer Roger Corman. "Voyage to the Planet of the Prehistoric Women" was confabulated by Peter Bogdanovich using the pseudonym, Derek Thomas. Working under the dictum that American International...

Buck Rogers (1939) re-edited from serial to feature format and re-released for theatrical distribution in 1953; an American soldier suspended in time wakes up to find himself in the futuristic world of the year 2500. Updated: I've corrected the title, it took two very obvious reviews for me to realize it should be "Planet Outlaws" not "Plant Outlaws". In my defense I am the product of a North Carolina public school.

The Blood of Jesus ( 1941 ) is a classic example of the " race film " genre of films by African-American directors and casts, geared exclusively for an African-American audience. This film, written and directed by Spencer William Jr. of the TV show Amos & Andy Show (who also played Razz Williams in the film), is a morality tale about a woman ( Cathryn Caviness ) who is accidentally shot to death by her husband. Facing death, she must choose between Hell , represented as urban...

The Phantom Creeps is everything an old classic B sci-fi is supposed to be. It features Bela Lugosi (as Dr. Zorka), a mad megalomaniac genius with a utility belt and a sack of gadgets that would make Batman and James Bond blush, against a team of CIA-types, a reporter, and local law enforcement. Lugosi hams up a storm and really seems to enjoy himself in this immensely silly role. His somewhat untrustworthy and dull side-kick, played by Jack Smith is a great foil to his overbearing stage...

This is a classic b-Grade Sci-fi movie from 1953. Leonmard Maltin called it "the best of the So-Bad-it's-Good movies". Sometime shown in 3-d, always shown with a score by Elmer Bernstein, this picture is also known as "Rocket to the Moon". A group of space travellers find themselves landing on a hostile moon inhabited by beautiful women in tight black costumes and heavy eye makeup. COPYRIGHT NOTE: This film is public domain because of the failure of it's producer/copyright...
